Dear Fellow Hoosiers ,
Colleagues in the Working Class,
Hoosier Youth (especially),

I am your average Hoosier; I went to High School at Evansville North High School. I am a Marine Corps Veteran and have a vocational education in the STEM discipline of Metrology.  I enjoy sports entertainment and gaming; I am kind of a geek! I have made mistakes along the way, but I have lived reasonably well.  I do enjoy being absurd and cheeky from time to time.

It’s with humility and a sense of urgency I ask for your vote, but more than that; I am going to ask you to start reaching out to one another. Yes, we have our differences. Let’s embrace those. We’ve been divided for too long.

Let’s prioritize people over business, not the other way around.

Let’s prioritize compassion over violence, not the other way around.

Let’s remember and always recognize that kindness is a strength.

Let’s embrace and welcome diversity. This is America. We are a culture of cultures.

Healthcare is a human right. It is. We have the technology. We have the infrastructure.

Our health is not a commodity to be negotiated with. To negotiate for one’s own health is inherently unfair from the start; this practice needs to end.

Climate Change is real. The data is there. We must take this head on.

The economy might be working well for the ignorant rich, but it’s not working for us any longer.

Our best and brightest have been aggressively hamstrung by predatory student loans and can’t do much about it. This is akin to indentured servitude.

Washington is corrupt. The Supreme Court has legalized bribery in the form of Citizens United. Too many politicians serve their donors and not their voters. Too many politicians vote against the interest of their constituents because of money. This pisses me off and should piss you off too.

I look forward to the conversation.

P.S. Hoosier Youth, are you bold and feisty? Are you a passionate dork? Do you find yourself defending those around yourself? You should run for office. As soon as you can. Filing is open between Jan8th, 2020 and Feb7th 2020. If your google-fu is good, you’ll go further than you probably think!
